Inverted triangle!

Being an inverted triangle doesn't sound very sexy, but with your strong shoulders, narrow hips and slim legs, it's considered to be one of the most desirable body shapes and is often seen on athletes and models.

If you have an inverted triangle body shape you are top heavy. You have proportionally broad shoulders, large bust and narrow hips. You most likely are a long legged vertical body shape with proportionally slim legs, you may also have a flat bottom.

Here are some DO’s and DONT’s for this shape and what we would recommend.

DO’S

Tops: When it comes to tops, look for details that will soften your shape. A waterfall neckline with ruffles will draw attention towards your cleavage, and away from strong shoulders. Wrap tops are perfect for inverted triangles, especially if you have a fuller bust. Print can help add bulk and volume to your lower half, drawing the focus away from a broader upper body. We recommend the RENNIE TOP IN STEEL which is only £20.

Bottoms: flowing fabrics and flared bottoms are ideal for your body shape. As this will help make you body look in all the right proportions. We would recommend the BELIZE TROUSERS which are £60.

When looking for skirts go for a ¾ length with or without split or a crease in the front which will make you look taller, help thin your body shape and make you look gorgeous.

Dresses: Go for a dress similar to the style of tops listed. Any dress that flows from the waist is guaranteed to flatter! Also wrap dresses are a big yes. We recommend the ESTRELLA GOWN which is £185. This gorgeous evening dress is available in black, hyacinth and red.

DONT’S
Stay away from any bulky or stiff fabrics. Also keep away from the styles of clothes that will emphasize your shoulders.

We also say high necklines, big collars, tampered skirts and bottoms are a big no.

Diamond!

A diamond figure is where the waste is thicker than the shoulders and hips.

The best way to dress a Diamond figure is to add volume to the top of your body whilst minimising the bottom to create a waist. Stay away from tight clothing, a monochromatic look usually works best.
The diamond body shapes are the opposite of the Hourglass figure. It is your aim to create attention to your top half up, away from your tummy. Dressing a diamond figure is best done with clothing that creates balance. The best way to create perfect curves is to add volume to your shoulders and hips, also fitted clothing at the waist will make a big difference.
Here are some DO’s and DONT’s for this shape and what we would recommend.
DO’S!
Tops: Square cut neckline or low circular neck lined tops are the best to add volume to your shoulders without resorting to padded shoulders. Many blouses can be a big help, all you need to do is scrunch the sleeves and gather the extra fabric which can also create volume.

Another good style is an empire cut top. The bottom of the top appears in a upside down “V” shape which emphasizes your hips and downsizes your waist. Patterned tops, vertical buttons and seams will help slim down your waist.

We recommend: MAUI CONVERTABLE SUNRISE this gorgeous top is only £55.
Bottoms: Stick with bottoms that have simple pockets or no pockets at all. Straight jeans that fall straight down from your hip are the best for your figure.

A-line skirts are the most popular as it helps your body to look slimmer and here is one for only £54, the RUBY DENIM SKIRT.

Dresses: A dress with an A-line skirt yet again is the best option for your figure and belted if possible. We recommend the FLIRTATIOUS SUN DRESS. This is the perfect dress for your figure. The belt underneath the bust will add more volume to your bust and shoulders, this will give your body all the curves you’ve ever dreamed of and is currently on sale for £63.75.

DON’T’S!
Stay away from tight T-shirts, tops with a large print and high necklines are not flattering for the Diamond body shape.
Anything pleated from the waist.
A one colour dress or printed dress as it will make you look bigger not smaller.

Hourglass

Hourglass figures are round and curvy.

An hourglass shaped woman has a well-defined waistline and fuller hips and bust. Their shoulders and hips are equal in width, depending on what is worn and by dressing in the most flattering way this will point out the best of their particular shape.

If you are blessed with an hourglass figure then you are very fortunate. You have a balanced body which is considered to be the most ideal form. Your figure is the easiest to dress as most things look good on you. Now its time draw attention to your waist and those feminine curves!

Here are some DO’s and DONT’s for this shape and what we would recommend.

DO’S!

Tops: Wear a top that will enhance you bust and waist as most people who have an hourglass figure tend to have a larger bust area. Always make sure you have a bra that offers good support.

The right bra can help make a difference when it comes to enhancing your figure.

V necked or scooped necklines, tops that will lengthen your body and emphasize your waist are the one’s to be looking out for.

This new autumn shirt will sit in the right places and show your beautiful curves: RAILY RUCH SHIRT At only £33.00.

Bottoms: Shape your silhouette by wearing bottoms that will show your shape in all the right places.

Wearing jeans that are made of stretch denim will hug your curves and give a smooth fit at the waistline and hips.

Jeans that are slightly flared or have a wide leg will help balance out your hips.
We recommend the VETO POCKET JEANS 32" These gorgeous jeans are only £40.00 and are available in sizes 16 to 26.

When looking for skirts go for a ¾ length with or without split or a crease in the front which will make you look taller, thinner and sexier.

This sexy ¾ length skirt is exactly what you need: SOLSTA DENIM SKIRT at £54.00.

Dresses: As you know every lady should have a dress that they feel fabulous in. It has to be the right size and suit your figure.

For all of you hourglasses out there you need a dress that will draw as much attention as you can to those gorgeous curves! We recommend this beautiful dress : CYBELLE COCKTAIL DRESS This dress will pull in at all the right places and will show off exactly what you want to flaunt at only £120.

DONT’S!

Stay away from any baggy clothes that will hide your beautiful curves and turn you into a shapeless line.

Any skirts that are too short will tend to make you look round and shorten your look.

Avoid tops that have large prints, checks and stripes and lots of detail around the bust area. This will hide your great curves and make you look out of proportion.

And the winner is....

Imagine the scene -

A trendy photographers studio in the heart of Surrey, A new face with hot potential on the plus size modelling scene and a pile of the best plus size clothes from Curvety.com - what a day!

Yes, it was Curvety's first ever photo shoot. Our model competition was a huge success with many applicants from across the Country, but the winner stood out from the crowd with her amazing curvy figure & stunningly memorable looks -welcome Olivia Campbell.

The day started with a rummage through the looks to find the key pieces to picture, while the make up artist transformed our new model into a sultry sex goddess.

Photographer, Chantal Storrs Barbor of Cherry red studios, was responsible for shortlisting the applicants and on the day helped to put Olivia at ease while clicking away. Within minutes you could see that she is a true natural with striking presence.

You can see some of the new shots at Curvety.com and i'm sure it isnt the last you will see of Olivia, who now has a brand new portfolio to launch herself as a plus size model courtesy of Cherry red studios. We will definitely be inviting Olivia back to Curvety in the near future.
