A belt worn high on an empire waistline will draw the attention away from the tummy & hip area and accentuate a good bust. Pulling in higher up creates a slim waist effect higher up and allows your outfit to skim over the tummy & hip area giving a lovely curvy silhouette. This look is perfect with a simple empire waist dress like the obi belt & prague dress pictured, or a loose fit tunic top.

A classic pear or hour glass shape can wear a belt on the natural waist line to draw attention to their natural curves and take attention away from the hip & bottom area. This look works well with waisted dresses and for a more tailored look, pair with a tucked in fitted shirt and tailored wide leg trousers. The round buckled belt pictured is perfect for this look.
If you prefer a looser fit above the hip area and have a smaller bottom and legs a belt can be worn low on the hips. The loose fit above the hips will cover a multitude of sins while attracting the eye to the bottom and hips. A great example would be to pair skinny jeans with a slightly longer top or jumper which is slightly fitted but loose enough to give the slightly gathered effect above the belt line. A perfect top for this would be the Toccara Top by Igigi.

Love that top belt. That could be worn with so many different outfits.
